Max Ciné

Max Ciné is a production company led by Cinematographer and Editor, Maxime Cyr-Morton. Maxime’s work revolves around the use of low-res and high-res cameras combined together to create unique visual images. Mini-Dv tape is special to him because its analogue and digital characteristics allow him to capture abstract painterly textures.

The brand identity is designed to emphasize his modern euro visual approach coupled with a bold and masculine feel. With an icon that represents an abstracted letterform of the M+C (of Max Ciné), the dual triangular shapes hint at film through the depiction of a clapper and emulates the accent from the “e” to highlight his french heritage while the icon appears turned on its side — representing Maxime’s new “take” or twist on low-fi cameras and narrative in cinema. Using experimental iconographic auxiliary graphics and a minimal black and white color palette accented by film stills, we are left with a minimalist feel and maximalist type which allows the image to take precedent where the work speaks for itself.
